Dear Clients and Friends,
Happy New Year! Im inspired to write you today as I reflect on the past year and look ahead to the upcoming year. 2007 was an incredible year for my real estate business and I have you to thank for that.
In spite of all the doomsayers, the real estate market is still relatively strong in my opinion. We are clearly in a different market cycle than the one many enjoyed some years back but the basic tenets of real estate remain unchanged. A property must priced realistically and a broker must work dilligently for their client. The concept is simple and for those of you who worked with me over past year, I think you will agree with my assessment. Many properties remain on the market today because they are not priced realistically and/or are not represented by an agent willing to work tirelessly on their client's behalf. The real estate market is no different than any other market; its cyclical with ups and downs but the bottom line is that people will always need housing and for a myriad of reasons people will always have to move.
Looking back over the past year I was honored to represent buyers and sellers from Weston to Boston's historic waterfront; and points in between including Brookline, Dover, Medfield, Needham, Natick, Needham, Sherborn and Wellesley. I saw a transition from the suburbs to downtown Boston as empty-nesters felt the enormity of their suburban home with their kids gone and the appeal of living downtown with all it has to offer increases. But I also saw many young couples moving from the city to the suburbs to start their families. Last summer, I worked with my first professional athlete when he was traded to Boston from Montreal. We scoured the suburbs, weighed the pros and cons of the various towns and properties and ended up purchasing a high-end condominium on the Boston waterfront where his family is very happy. I continue to work in the rental market because many of the relationships I develop there endure when those clients become buyers or sellers. I am excited to have just been appointed by the Greater Boston Real Estate Association to serve on both their Community Service Committee as well as their Communications Committee. I launched my own website which you're on and am incredibly proud to have been the top producing agent in my office for 2007!
I feel blessed and know that much of my good fortune has been the result of referrals, which I consider a great compliment and for which I am so appreciative. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who put their trust in me this past year and thank you to those of you with whom I am currently working. I am grateful for those opportunities and to have met each and every one of you. 2007 was a great year and I know 2008 will be even better! I hope you're enjoying this snowy and wet afternoon someplace warm with family and friends.
Wishing you all the best in 2008!
Most Sincerely,
Mary |
